Iceland. Glacial lake Jökulsárlón

Glacial lake Jökulsárlón is one of the most outstanding nature sights in Iceland. It is located on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park and there is no problem getting there any time of year.

Jökulsárlón lake has become four times larger since the year 1970 because of melting of the glaciers, something that undoubtedly proves the effect of the global warming. Today it counts to be the deepest lake in Iceland.

The unusual and scenic landscape has been used many times by film makers and Jökulsárlón appears in four Hollywood movies: A View to a Kill, Die Another Day, Tomb Raider and Batman Begins.
