Buenos Aires. Dock Sud District
We are leaving for the south of Buenos Aires, to Dock Sud. Cameras are installed in the largest residential complex of Nicolas Avellaneda, also known as Las Torres.
The complex was designed in the early 1970s. By 1980, the first stage of construction was completed and 1,188 apartments were commissioned. In total, the complex was supposed to consist of 5,000 housing units, but with the fall of the government, the project remained unfinished.
The complex consists of 11 ten-story towers with brick facades that are interconnected by bridges. The district has its own sports clubs, a pension center, a primary school and other infrastructure.
Dock Sud is also called El Doke. It is part of the municipality of Avellaneda, part of the province of Buenos Aires. In 2014, the district gained city status. The area is named after the port of Dock Sud, which is used by oil tankers.
We can see some high-rise residential complexes of Buenos Aires and the Ricardo Balbín highway, which runs along the whole area and connects the center of Buenos Aires with the neighboring city of La Plata.
