Adelaide Airport opened in 1955 and its current guise appeared only in 2005, when the internal and external airport terminals were consolidated. This reconstruction cost the airport owners 260 million Australian dollars. The quality of service and passenger air transport has been estimated at the global level — Adelaide Airport was named the world’s second-best in the ranking of airports in 2007.

Airport capacity is 3000 people per hour, it is able to serve up to 27 planes simultaneously, and around 6 million passengers pass through it every year .

An interesting fact: in this Australian airport, free Wi-Fi became available for the first time.
