Goolwa. At the Pier

Goolwa is a small river port in South Australia, and it’s not one of those towns that worries about increasing the pace of life, attracting new residents, etc. Goolwa is proud of its measured, unhurried life and small-town flavor. It’s even a member of the Cittaslow movement, the first among the non-European cities.

Thanks to its low-rises, Goolwa covers a wide area along the channel connecting Lake Alexandrina and Encounter Bay. In addition to the water, Goolwa is surrounded by golf courses, nature reserves, and farmland. South Australia, by the way, is known for its agriculture and produces quite decent wine.
