Filzmoos. Grossberg Station

The Grossbergbahn cableway is in the northern part of Filzmoos. Based on its characteristics, it can hardly compete with other ski lifts in Salzburg, but the prices for ski passes in Filzmoos are lower than in the most popular resorts of this region.

The chair lift has a length of 985 meters, while the height difference between the lower and upper station is only 320 meters. Grossbergbahn is capable of serving up to 2,000 tourists per hour. You will find yourself at the top of the mountain in just 3.5 minutes (four-seat armchairs move at a speed of about 5 meters per second).

In early 2017, there was an unpleasant incident with this funicular produced by Doppelmayr. The lift went out of order, and about 100 skiers were trapped there for an hour. Thanks to fine weather, none of them froze waiting for rescuers.

In the frame of the rotary camera, installed on the lower Grossberg station, we can see the lift itself, as well as the finish line of several ski runs of the resort.
