Graz. City Panorama from Stadthalle Graz

The exhibition complex, Stadthalle Graz, is a new architectural pride of Graz and the real pride of the city. It was built in the Jakomini district at the beginning of 2000. Construction was preceded by a big architectural competition, in which the work of Klaus Kada won.

The two-story building has a total area of about 14,000 square meters and houses a huge exhibition hall, without any supports. Only four columns support the roof, and they are all in the corners of the building. Messe Congress Graz and Styria Media Center are built next to Stadthalle Graz.

The panoramic camera first shows the central part of Graz, and then turns from the north toward the southern suburbs, passing by the media center, Styria.

At the very beginning, we can see two architectural dominants of Graz, the white Alpha Tower and the tower of the Catholic Church of the Heart of Christ. The second one deserves special attention because the church was built at the end of the 19th century and now is included in the compulsory program of any tourist route in Graz. The church, built in the Neo-Gothic style, is distinguished by a large, high central nave.
