Leogang. Mount Asitz

Whenever you look at the ponds located high in the mountains, you likely admire their beauty. Asitz is not an exception. A rotating web camera is installed next to the pond, on the banks of which are benches, and nearby restaurants and cafes have been built next to the cableway stations. The reservoir is used for managing the snow on the ski slopes, at the beginning and end of the ski season.

Mount Asitz is 1,872 meters above sea level. You can walk to its top, if you are a good hiker. Otherwise, you can use the Leogang ski lifts.

Near Bad Leogang, you can use one of the two ropeways built by Doppelmayr. One of them was built quite recently, in 2014, and is a ten-seat cabin lift called Steinbergbahn. The second one, the eight-seat Asitz-Kabinenbahn, was built in 1991.

For traveling and skiing in the mountains of Zell am See, you can buy a package offer. All the lifts of the district are in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn area, where a day ski pass costs 45 euros.
