Mauterndorf. Panorama of Grosseck-Speiereck Ski Resort

We are rising into the air above the ski resort of Mauterndorf. From a bird’s-eye view, we can see a stunning panorama of the mountain peaks, the valleys of Austrian rivers and several cableways built on Mount Speiereck. Speiereck Gipfelbahn, a four-chair funicular built in 1991, delivers tourists to the very top.

Speiereck, which we can periodically see on the screen, has a height of 2,411 meters above sea level. The upper station of the cableway is only 70 meters below the mountain peak, so its conquest can be very simple if you use the lift.

Several ropeways have been built at the intermediate station of the Grosseck-Speiereck Resort, so tourists always have a wide choice of routes, with different levels of complexity. Additionally, several restaurants are open at the intermediate station.

Other natural attractions of Mauterndorf decorate the slopes of Mount Speiereck and provide for the work of snow cannons in the resort, the reservoirs of Trogalmsee.
