Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Schattberg-West

We offer you magnificent views of the Alpine mountains from one of the tops of Schattberg. The upper station of the Westgipfelbahn cable car was built here, at the peak of Schattberg-West, located at an altitude of 2,096 meters above sea level. The lift, with eight-seat cabins, was opened in 2004. Two years later, another ski area was created at the top, on the eastern slope, and is serviced by Schattberg Sprinter high-speed cableway.

Tourists pass two sections of Westgipfelbahn in 8 minutes. During this time, skiers climb 1 kilometer up, and booths travel more than 2.5 kilometers. Mount Schattberg has several peaks. The neighboring Schattberg-Ost also has two lifts, including Schattberg X-Press.

The first cableways appeared on the slopes of Schattberg in the 1960s. The rapid development of the two neighboring resorts, Hinterglemm and Saalbach-Hinterglemm, began after that. In the summer, conquerors of mountain peaks climb Schattberg, so all conditions, such as pedestrian paths with mountain huts on them, have been created for them.
