The camera on the viewing platform of Mount Umpiljak is located between two large settlements of the island of Lošinj. From neighboring peaks, such as the mountain of Kalvarija, you can look at the town of Veli Lošinj, and we are observing the panorama of Mali Lošinj, as well as the northern part of the island of Lošinj.

Umpiljak is not the highest point of the island. If you continue the journey to the southeastern part of the island, you will get to an altitude of 231 meters above sea level on the hill of St. Ivan the Baptist, which is 60 meters higher than Umpillak. In 1755, the church of the same name was built on the hill of St. Ivan the Baptist, to which tourists from all over the world make pilgrimage.

On the screen, we can see a table installed directly on the observation deck, so that you can not only enjoy the magnificent views of the Croatian island, but also have a picnic. In the Middle Ages, the current observation platforms were used as observation points for ships moving to the shores of the island.

In the background, you can see another part of the island of Lošinj, which is connected to Mali Lošinj by a small isthmus, near the island of Koludarac (it is on the left).
