Račice is one of several northern resorts of the Croatian island of Korcula. It is located on the shore of the strait between Korcula and the peninsula of Peljesac. This settlement was built in the second half of the 17th century, when the refugees from Makarska, fleeing from the Ottomans, settled here. In the next century, the residents of Herzegovina arrived here.

Like all the coastal settlements of Croatia, Račice has been living on tourism for many decades. More than 1,000 people lived in this village at the beginning of the last century. The situation changed dramatically in 1945, during nationalization. Since then, the demographic situation is like during the 19th century, as the local population is about 500 people.

Tourists stay in apartments and mini-hotels. There are several bars and restaurants on the coast. The camera is installed on the Račice waterfront. We can see automobile and pedestrian roads, piers of the resort, and terraces of local cafes.

The cultural program of Račice includes visits to ancient churches, one of which was built at the end of the 17th century. In the neighboring bay, vacationers can find Vaja, one of the best beaches of the island.
