Lipno nad Vltavou. Lipno Reservoir
Stezka korunami stromů is an observation deck built in the vicinity of the spa town of Lipno nad Vltavou. A unique object of wooden architecture, at an altitude of 901 meters above sea level, appeared in 2012. A wooden trail, with a length of 675 meters, was erected around the tower. You can ascend the observation deck both along this path and via the spiral staircase in the center of the tower.
The unusual design of the tower, among other things, also contains a 52-meter-high hump pipe. In the second year after its opening, the wooden pathway became the most visited tourist direction in the southern region (more than 350,000 tourists visited Stezka korunami stromů in 2013).
By a wooden bridge, built on 75 supports, tourists get to the height of 25 meters above ground. The viewing platform is even higher, at 40 meters above ground.
A panoramic camera shows us the main natural attraction of the Český Krumlov area, the Lipno Reservoir. The dam on the Vltava River was built in the late 1950s. This is the largest pond of the Czech Republic and is sometimes called the ‘sea of South Bohemia’. Along with the new hydroelectric power station, the Czech Republic has also received a new tourist destination.
