Prague. Opletalova Street
Praha hlavní nádraží — this phrase is probably heard by all tourists who have ever visited the capital of the Czech Republic. Prague’s main station is located near the city center, and the metro station of the same name is also located here. This webcam is installed near the station, on Opletalova Street. The street, named after the student who died during the anti-fascist demonstration in 1939, connects Wenceslas Square with Hybernenska Street.
The street has a very rich history because this place was inhabited in the Middle Ages. For more than five hundred years of its history, Opletalova Street has changed its name (Bosácká, Chudobická, Turkova, Mariánská, Lützowova, Beethovenova).
There are a huge number of restaurants, shops, and hotels, as well as various monuments and gardens of Vrchlitsky (this is the name of a small park located in front of the entrance to the Prague Main Station). On the screen, we can see the intersection of Opletalova Street and Wenceslas Square.
In the background is the Palác Fénix. It was built in the 1920s and now is one of the cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. It houses offices and a shopping center.
