Narva. Peter's Square

This webcam is located in Narva, which is the third largest city of Estonia. It shows the central city square, Peter’s Square, and one of the major tourist attractions and landmarks of the city, the 15th-century castle, with the 51-metre-high Long Hermann tower.

Narva is a very Russian city. History has made it somewhat German and Swedish, as well, but not very Estonian. During the Soviet era, a beautiful Lenin statue stood in the center of this square. From the south, it overlooks the Baroque building of the Town Hall (end of the 16-th century) and the City Council, from the north — walls of the 17th-century fortress. A statue of Peter the Great stood here in the 19th-century, later it was demolished.

Narva has a very old history, as it was founded in the beginning of the 13th-century. As every charming old Estonian town, it offers its guests unique atmosphere and beautiful architecture. This city is definitely worth visiting.
