We are observing one of the bridges of Tbilisi, spanning the opposite shores of the beautiful Kura River. Kura is known as one of the largest rivers of Caucasus region. Starting in Turkey, it flows to Georgia, and then to Azerbaijan.
Georgian towns of Gori and Rustavi are also standing on the Kura River. Unfortunately, the river is polluted, especially in its lower part.
Now let us take a look at The Bridge of Peace, which is a beautiful pedestrian bridge opened in 2010. It connects Old Tbilisi with the new districts, and was designed by the famous Italian architect Michele De Lucchi and French lighting designer Philippe Martinaud.
