Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The Alster
This webcam captures panoramic view of the Port of Hamburg, Germany’s second-largest city and one of the largest cities in Europe. It is situated on the river Elbe about 100 kilometres from the North Sea. This webcam shows as well huge cargo ships and cruise liners sailing back and forth. Surrounding on-shore territories serve for warehousing.
The Port of Hamburg has become one of the city’s major attractions. Local embankments are usually full of tourists willing to explore all the ins and outs of the port. Rickmer Rickmers, the museum ship, is one of the popular points of interest.
If you walk a bit further, you will come to the old car tunnel under the Elbe. Don’t forget to visit the morning “Fish Market” in the neighborhood, if you have some spare time. Here is sold not only fish, but also souvenirs and antiques.
On the right bank of Elbe can be clearly seen the silver Theatre on Elbe and the yellow building of “AIDA-Musical-Boulevard”. You can take a nice boat trip to get here.
