Kochel am See. Lake Kochelsee

The top of Fahrenbergkopf offers beautiful views of two German lakes, Kochelsee and Walchensee. This camera is directed to the northwest where Lake Kochelsee is situated. On the right, we can see the municipality of Kochel, which is the largest settlement near the lake.

Thanks to the vicinity of high alpine mountains, Lake Kochelsee has become a popular tourist destination. In addition to swimming, fishing and boating, tourists can go mountain hiking and ski on the slopes of Herzogstand in winter.

The lake also has a special area for windsurfers and kiters which, thanks to powerful winds, has all the conditions for these kinds of sports. Vacationers can stay not only in Kochel but also on the western shore of the lake, in the town of Schlehdorf, which also has a well-developed tourist infrastructure.

The camera is installed at a height of 1627 meters, but it is not a record peak of Mount Herzogstand, the maximum height of which is 1731 meters above sea level.
