Oberstdorf. Mountain Hut Mindelheimer Hütte

We are going to the Bavarian Alps, to the Austro-German border. Here, Mindelheimer Hütte, built in the 1920s, is waiting for tired travelers. The mountain hut is at an altitude of 2,013 meters above sea level. Since 1997, it has the ECO marking, which is given only to the most deserving huts.

This status has many requirements, among which are energy conservation, availability of renewable energy sources, water conservation, pollution reduction, as well as waste recycling.

Mindelheimer Hütte can accommodate up to 120 guests at a time. The mountain hut operates from approximately the middle of June to October. Today, the owners of the hut are representatives of the Krupinski Dynasty, which bought this shelter in 1977.

Traveling in the Bavarian Alps requires some experience, especially if you plan to climb so high, so Mindelheimer Hütte is not for everyone. Beginners are advised to try out simpler routes first.

From this mountain hut, travelers can go to the tops of Gaishorn (2,247 meters above sea level), Angererkopf (2,266 meters), Liechelkopf (2,384 meters) and Elferkopf (2,387 meters).
