Prien am Chiemsee. Chiemsee
Prien am Chiemsee, a quiet and peaceful town of Germany, became a major climatic resort at the end of the 19th century, after the railway was laid and the flow of tourists increased dramatically. Residents from all over the country came to local hospitals and boarding houses, as well as to tour the castle of Herrenchiemse, which opened to visitors in 1886.
But, the main attraction of the resort is Lake Chiemsee. The tourist infrastructure of local villages and towns is built around it. We are looking at this lake from the recreation center, PRIENAVERA Erlebnisbad. Here, you can swim in one of several pools, visit a sauna or have spa procedures.
There are several islands on the lake, the largest of which is shown by this camera. Herrenchiemsee Castle, popular with tourists, is built on it. You can also find famous buildings on the rest of the islands on the lake. For example, on the island of Frauen, there is an ancient female monastery of the Order of Saint Benedict, which has been there for almost 1,250 years.
