Schwangau. Panorama of the Village from Mount Tezhelberg
We are on the Tezhelberg Mountain near the border with Austria. We are looking at the German village of Schwangau from a height of 1707 meters above sea level. In addition to the panorama of Fussen and Schwangau, we can also see several lakes: Weissensee, Alpsee, Hopfensee and a large lake, Forggensee. Around the latter are several resorts, which function both in summer and winter.
The camera is installed in the mountain hut, Tegelberghaus, with a cozy restaurant and rooms for 70 beds. An accommodation here costs 29 euros with breakfast included. But remember that bad weather is not a reason for cancellation and refund.
The mountain is very popular with skiers, snowboarders and fans of hiking. It employs a lot of ski lifts and ski slopes are open in winter.
The main attraction on Mount Tegelberg is the medieval castle, Hohenschwangau. It is located close to Alpsee, which you can see on the left. The first mention of the castle was found in the annals of 1090, but the current building on the site dates back to the sixteenth century, where there is now a museum and medieval furniture is still in its interior.
