Winterberg. Summit Brembergkopf
We can see the ski resort of Skiliftkarussell Winterberg in the center of Germany, built on the slopes of Brembergkopf. The camera is installed at the upper point of the resort where several ropeways, serving the routes on different mountain slopes, meet. We are looking at the panorama of the resort from a height of 810 meters above sea level.
Winterberg is a member of the Wintersport-Arena Sauerland ski association, so tourists can relax at several nearby resorts using a single subscription to all ski lifts. Wintersport-Arena Sauerland has 75 funiculars, and 97 trails, with a total length of more than 60 kilometers, of which 42 kilometers have artificial snowing systems. A week-long skipass costs 125 euros.
Because of the small difference in the heights and flatness of the slopes of Brembergkopf, most of the trails in the resort have a low or medium level of complexity.
At the summit, next to Brembergkopf, a ski jumping board, St.-Georg-Schanze, was built in 1928. Today, it has an updated infrastructure. In 2001, the landing site was replaced, which can be used in the summer months. The springboard of Winterberg is primarily designed for junior training.
