It’s the view of the Hungarian Parliament from the Danube River embankment. This building is considered one of the oldest legislative institutions in Europe. The general plan of Budapest from an architectural point of view is very strict in relation to the newly constructed buildings, so Parliament is still the highest building in the capital.
Any tourist route in the center of Budapest passes through Lajos Kossuth Square, where the residence of parliamentarians is located (you can see the square behind the building).
Near this sight, the Ethnographic Museum and the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary are situated. In the last century, when the country was actively building socialism, the spire was topped with a red star, like the Moscow Kremlin towers.
In the Parliament building, guided tours in different languages (including Russian) for tourists from around the world are arranged.
