Bonefro. Panorama of the Community

The village of Bonefro, in the Italian region of Molise, is 640 meters above sea level. We are looking at the community from an even higher point, the camera is installed on the grounds of the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie. In addition to the natural beauty of the province of Campobasso, viewers can enjoy the medieval architecture of the village, as well as its main attraction, the 13th century Catholic Church of Santa Maria delle Rose.

The history of Bonefro began in the 9th-10th centuries, when an ancient Germanic tribe, Langards, came to this region of modern Italy. The gates of the ancient castle, Porta Molino, Porta Pia la Terra, Porta Fontana, and Porta Nuova have been preserved in the center of Bonefro.

In the 21st century, Bonefro, like most villages, is in decline. And the population is decreasing with each passing year.

The situation is improved a little by those tourists who want to get acquainted with the provincial life of Italy. A good place to stay is La Locanda Del Buongustaio Hotel, where a double room can be rented for 50 euros.
