Bormio. Bormio 2000 Station

The northern ski resorts of Italy, located near the state border, are a real paradise for skiers and snowboarders. Usually, such resorts combine a great variety of routes of varying degrees of complexity, such as here, in Bormio. Tourists are serviced by dozens of ski lifts, on the slopes of several Alpine mountains.

This camera is installed on the station, Bormio 2000, built at an altitude of 1,952 meters above sea level, southeast of the Bormio community. A panoramic overview allows us to see just a few funiculars, as well as the rich infrastructure of the station. There are several hotels and restaurants, a sporting goods store, children’s playgrounds, and much more. In fact, we can see the whole tourist town on the screen.

The first thing we can see is the Bormio-Bormio 2000 lift, linking the community to the station on which we are located. Vacationers overcome this distance in 6 minutes. The capacity of the funicular, equipped with 8-seater panoramic cabins, is 2,800 people per hour. Cabs cover a distance of 2.5 kilometers, and the difference in altitude between the stations of the cable car is almost 750 meters.

When the camera turns to the east, it becomes clear that more complex routes are available for the most desperate tourists. The lift, Valbella-Bormio 3000, leads to them. The height on which tourists find themselves leaving the funicular’s chair, is clear from the name. Thus, in Bormio, you can use the slopes with a total height difference of almost 2 kilometers.
