Torrevecchia Teatina. Panorama of the City

The heart of the Italian commune of Torrevecchia Teatina is San Rocco square. The cameras are installed in the church of the same name, on its tower. From nearby streets, you can keep track of the time on the clock, which is located on the tower and the building itself can be seen from almost every corner of the city.

Despite the fact that only 4000 people live in Torrevecchia Teatina, there are 4 churches. Also in this region is the Valignani family palace. One of the most famous members of the family is Italian writer Federico Valigyani. He devoted much time to the construction of various buildings in the commune.

It is known that, in the IV century BC, the city of Pollitium was situated in this location and was captured by the Roman Empire. The next mention of this territory dates back to the XIV century, and then, in the XVIII century, above-mentioned Valigyani Federico was engaged in building Torrevecchia Teatina. The modern commune was formed in 1809 by the merger of smaller settlements.
