The village of Oshino (Oshino-mura) is located on a plateau, at an altitude of 936 meters above sea level, surrounded by the Katsura and Shogava rivers. The dimensions of the village are about eight kilometers from east to west, not more than four kilometers from north to south. As of April 1st, 2015, 9,232 people live here.

Every point of the village offers stunning views of snow-capped Mount Fuji (elevation 3,776 meters), located on the south side of the village, and the mountain Ishivarisan (elevation 1,413 meters) to the east, which attract tourists who want to see them firsthand.
