Kaunas. Town Hall Square

Kaunas Town Hall Square supports the best European traditions and is an attraction not only for tourists but also for residents who rest here in summer and winter. In the coldest months, there is a skating rink and stalls with hot and strong drinks.

The Town Hall is in the center of this fifteenth century square. Now, it towers over the city with a height of fifty-three meters, but it used to be a one-story building, then a two-story building, and so on. The Town Hall has been completed and increased in size for several centuries. Unfortunately, some elements of the building were destroyed, such as the statue of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.

The camera is installed near the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, located in the southern part of the Town Hall Square. Construction of the temple was carried out for nearly 250 years. At the moment, it is the largest Catholic Church in Lithuania and the only Gothic church in the country.
