Malé Atoll. The Beach of Olhuveli Beach Hotel & Spa Resort
The coral reefs of the Indian Ocean have formed many islands. The Maldives are an archipelago of 26 atolls and include 1,190 islands. The islands are formed by the peaks of underwater mountains, crested with coral. Out of all the islands, only 200 are inhabited. The rest of the islands are either uninhabited, or have been turned into hotels.
Oluveli beach, which is shown by a webcam, is a small island, 830 m in length and 115 m in width. But the size does not matter; Oluveli beach possesses the same turquoise waters, loose white sand and amazing nature as any other Maldivian island. It’s a pity that in time this beauty will be lost, because the archipelago sinks a few centimeters into the ocean every year.
