This webcam is located in front of the City Hall in Bălți, Moldova. This beautiful city is situated 127 kilometres north of the capital city of Chișinău. We can see one of the architectural attractions of Bălți, the monument of the prince of Moldavia Stefan cel Mare, also known as Stephen III of Moldavia or known as Stephen the Grea. He ruled from 1457 to 1504 and became famous for its contribution to development of the country.
Stefan cel Mare during 47 years of his reign, fought for independence of his princedom and did much to make it one of the significant political powers of Europe. The author of this statue depicted him as a hospodar in princely dress stretching out his hand.
Nearby the City Hall square can be found several other popular tourist attractions, such as Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre, the Saint Nicolas Cathedral (dating back to the18th century) and one modern looking Catholic Church.
