Perros-Guirec. District Ploumanac'h

The Ploumanac’h district, in the northern part of Perros-Guirec, is also called a city within a city. This tourist area, on the banks of the English Channel, has gained popularity due to its unique nature. The only road to this resort is the D788. The name of the district probably comes from the distorted phrase “monk’s pond”.

At the entrances to the coast, you can admire the granite sculptures in the sculpture park or old mills, the age of which is more than one century. At the sea, guests can enjoy great views of the islands of Les Sept Îles. We can see these islands behind the high stone lighthouse, one of the main architectural attractions in Ploumanac’h.

The first lighthouse in this place appeared in 1860. The original building was destroyed by the Nazis, during the Second World War. The lighthouse you see on the screen appeared here in 1946. From the observation deck of the 15-meter lighthouse, you can see the island of Renote, the castle of Costaérès and, of course, the archipelago of the seven islands of Les Sept Îles.

Tourists can stroll along the rocky shores of the area, go to the picturesque bay or look at the amazing religious buildings, such as the chapel-oratorio of Saint Guirec, located directly on the water.
