Drimmelen. Pier Nieuwe Jachthaven
The camera on the banks of the Netherlands’ River Amer shows us the panorama of the pier, Nieuwe jachthaven. Basically, private yachts and other small vessels stay here. The village of Drimmelen is known primarily for this marina, and also as a center of water sports in North Brabant.
The River Amer, which we can see periodically on the screen, is not long but is an important transport artery. The average width of the river is about 400 meters.
The territory of Nationaal Park De Biesbosch begins on the opposite side of the river. It is a huge cluster of islands of different sizes. This territory of the Netherlands received national park status in 1994. Water sport competitions are held on the territory of Biesbosch, which is also used for agricultural purposes.
The camera appeared on the pier, Nieuwe jachthaven, thanks to More-Itz, a brasserie (a kind of French cafe where neither the interior nor the menu changes for decades). The summer verandah of this cafe sometimes can be seen on the screen.
