Bayahibe. The bay

People fly to the beaches of the Dominican Republic in search of the exotic: hammocks on the palms near the clear water, the white sand, shoals of colored fish on the reef rocks, like on postcards. People don’t come here for cultural attractions; only the capital, Santo Domingo, is rich in them.

In the village of Bayahibe is the beach of La Romana, the only Blue Flag beach in the country. In the lagoon of Dominicus (6km from the city center), is the most uncrowded beach and the port, the webcam shows part of it. Excursion tours to the Dominican islands and diving spots start from here.
