Jeddah. Panoramic View over the City

This webcam is located in the city of Jeddah (also known as Jiddah or Jedda). Jeddah is situated on the coast of the Red Sea and is the second-largest city in Saudi Arabia after its capital, Riyadh. This city is known as the principal gateway to Mecca and Medina, Islam’s holiest cities.

The webcam shows wonderful panoramic view over Jeddah. We can see how the small houses of Al-Balad (the Old town) peacefully adjoin modern skyscrapers and huge shopping malls.

The central part of the city houses embassies, consulates and official institutions. Al-Balad dates back to the 7th century and has served as the center of the city over many hundred years. This part of the city is famous worldwide for its traditional limestone-houses.

Another place of interest is the Floating Mosque, one of the most loved and visited sightseeing spots of Jeddah.
