On the screen you can see boats and yachts moored in the bay of Molorota of the northern Norwegian city of Bodø. Just beyond the bay are some of the most remarkable buildings of the city: Radisson Blu Hotel Bodø and Scandic Havet, Bodø Public Library, Stormen Konserthus concert hall, Stormen Theater, and City Court Salten tingrett.
Stormen modern complex, which includes a theater and a library and a concert hall, was opened in 2014 in the center of Bodø. A bus station used to sit in that location, but in 1999 it was decided to change the face of the city’s waterfront.
The exterior of the buildings was determined in the course of a contest, which was won by architects Daniel Rozbottom and David Howarth. Their Stormen project (“Storm” in Norwegian) turned out to be the most suitable to the general plan of the city. More than a billion Norwegian kroner was spent on the construction of the entire complex!
