Arkhyz. Arkhyz Mountain Ski Resort. The Lower Station

We are looking at the beautiful slopes of the all-year-round mountain resort of Arkhyz, located in the Republic of Karachay–Cherkessia. This is a very popular domestic winter sport destination for enthusiasts of skiing and snowboarding. Arkhyz Ski Resort lies close to the Black Sea and can be reached from the airport of Mineralnye Vody. About 1000 tourists visit this place each year.

Arkhyz Ski Resort was opened in 2013. It features three ski lifts (two chair lifts and one of gondola type) with total carrying capacity of 6600 people per hour. Elevation differences within local slopes vary a lot — from 900 metres to 3 kilometres, total length of pistes is about 14 kilometres.

Arkhyz Ski Resort is also very popular among tourists in summer time. It can offer its guests a wide range of snowless activities, such as mountain climbing and hiking. Ski lifts are also operating during the summer season.
