Kaluga. Theatre Square

It’s a webcam in Kaluga with a view of Theatre Square. Until the middle of the 20th century, this spot was home to the Square of Novy Torg, which was renamed into Theatre Square after the construction of a new building for the Kaluga Drama Theatre.

In front of the theater, there is a shaded alley with fountains — a popular place for urban youth to date. The Alley is continued by Theatre Street, a part of which became a pedestrian way and was paved with stone blocks. Also, on this street, there is a wind rose — a zero kilometer, from which the distance to any place in the world can be measured. On this street, in 2011, the sculpture of Tsiolkovsky, looking at the sky, was opened to honour the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight into space.
