Listvyanka. Baikal

We can see the resort village of Listvyanka, located on the shore of Lake Baikal. The camera shows us the road along the lake, as well as several buildings of the village. The appearance of a large number of hotels in Listvyanka is connected with the development of tourism. Vacationers stop here to enjoy a huge pond, buy Baikal omul and souvenirs.

Prices in local hotels vary greatly. You can find rooms up to 500 rubles per night, but service is not very good there. Much better are hotels like Dream of Baikal. It is completely built of wood, has wooden baths, and costs about 5000 rubles.

During the Soviet times, Listvyanka was famous for its shipyard, where the legendary icebreakers Baikal and Angara were assembled. Now, the shipyard is abandoned, so most of the local population is engaged in tourism. Among the guests of the village, there are foreigners from different parts of the world.

You can get to Listvyanka by car; it takes about an hour from Irkutsk. In the summer, travelers can reach the village via water service from the port of Baikal.
