Petrozavodsk. Train Station
We can see the railway station of Petrozavodsk. Today, the station building is considered an architectural monument. It was built in the mid-fifties of the last century, in the late neoclassicism style. The length of the main body of the station is 82 meters.
In the architectural ensemble of the building, there are a wide variety of elements, such as rizalits, round belvedere, and four-column portico. The entrance group is decorated with stucco and has a developed Corinthian order. In 1979, the luggage and cash center were built on the side of the platform.
In front of the station building, we can see Gagarin Square and the park with the same name, as well as busy traffic at the intersection of Lenin Avenue, Shotman Street and Krasnoarmeiskaya Street. On the far side of the image, between the station and the house number 2, are trains and the October Railway.
In addition to the passenger station, on which the railway station is built, there is also a commodity station in Petrozavodsk. It is located a little to the north, next to the intersection of Shotman and Krasnoflotskaya Streets.
