Maribor. Leon Štukelj Square

The walls of Marburg Castle were built on Pyramid Hill above the Drava in the early Middle Ages. Later, this name was given to the town, which appeared at the foot of the hill. Maribor got the status of a town in 1254.

The modern town of Maribor is situated on both banks of the Drava River, 16 kilometers from the Austrian border. The eventful history has left its mark on the appearance of the modern city.

The webcam shows Leon Štukelj Square, located in the heart of Maribor. The largest square in Slovenia, named after the famous gymnast, was inaugurated in 2011.
