Mariborsko Pohorje. Cottage Ruška Koča
Ruška Koča is a legendary hotel in the ski resort of Mariborsko Pohorje. It was built in 1907, at an altitude of 1,246 meters, and before the war, consisted of three huts — Ruška, Čandrova and Planinka. In addition, a small church was built on the mountain, and at the beginning of the century, a small settlement was formed here.
During the Second World War, all the houses of Ruška Koča burned down. The following year, after the end of the war, a modern hotel was built on the ruins of the old huts. The last global reconstruction of Ruška Koča was carried out in 1977.
The road to the hotel can take from half an hour to several hours. The fastest way to climb the mountain is to use the ski lifts of the resort. If you walk from the foot of the mountain, you will spend at least three and a half hours. The prices of the Ruška Koča cottages start at 10 euros, but really comfortable rooms, with full board, cost several times more.
This camera shows us the beginning of one of the ski resort trails, as well as a small restaurant with an outdoor terrace.
