Piran. Resort Piers

Excellent views of the historical part of the seaside town of Piran open to us from the bus station, located just south of the piers. We can see breakwaters at the entrance to the port of Piran, where bright landmarks for sailors are built. Owners of private vessels can easily see red and green houses that serve as a kind of lighthouse.

A huge number of yachts along the entire coast of Piran should not surprise tourists who come to the resort to take a dip in the Adriatic Sea’s Trieste Bay. The water here is clean, so you can safely go to the beaches of Piran. The same situation is in neighboring Portorož, where there are a lot of moored boats as well.

In the left part of the screen, the Church of Our Lady, built in the 13th century, towers over the sea on the edge of the Cape of Madonna. The original design has not survived, but today we see a no less historically significant attraction. A large-scale reconstruction of the ancient church was done in 1773, and restoration was carried out 117 years later.

Piran belonged to the Republic of Venice, which is reflected in its architecture. We can see bright examples of it along the entire coast. Houses in the Venetian style have a variety of colors.
