Olvera. Andalucía Square
The town of Olvera is in the south of Spain and, despite its modest size (200 square kilometers), has a large number of architectural attractions—several of which are shown by this webcam, which is installed on the Andalucía Square.
Iglesia de la Victoria (Victory Church) is on the square. We can see its white and red facades in the foreground of the image. The church has recently been reconstructed. The renovated building has been pleasing the eye of tourists from the mid-60s of last century.
If you go up Llana Street, you will find yourself in the town square and Plaza de la Iglesia, where a magnificent church, Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, is located. This church, in neoclassical style, was built at the beginning of the 19th century. Today, the towers of Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación have become a true symbol of this Spanish town.
There is also an Arab castle built in the days of the Granada Emirate, the last Arab state in Europe. It lasted for a relatively short time, from 1228 to January 2, 1492. The castle was built at the end of the 12th century, at an altitude of 623 meters above sea level. The high rock on which the Arab castle of Olvera is located can be seen from any part of the town, including our picture.
