Acadia National Park. Big Moose Island
The camera is located on the island of Big Moose, which is part of the vast Acadia National Park. It includes several islands off the coast of Maine. The largest number of tourists arrive there in the summer months, and in September, when the weather is still good for interesting excursions.
Many roads and trails that were paved there in the beginning of the last century are still in use. The park was created in 1916 by decree of the US president. Throughout Acadia’s history, there have been several serious accidents. For example, in 1947, about 40 square kilometers of forest were burnt in a large fire.
The park houses the only US fjord on the Atlantic coast. On the screen we can see one of the numerous mountains that decorate the park. All the mountains are of volcanic or tectonic origin.
