In different countries, the situation with stray dogs is different. You know everything about Korea and China. In not very civilized and prosperous countries, where people do not eat dogs, animals sometimes are treated very cruelly or even exterminated, and not always in a humane way.

In some countries, homeless dogs are not a problem. There are lots of them, but officials do not care. In Russia, dogs are usually caught, sterilized and released back. On one hand, it is quite a good and humane solution, but on the other hand, dogs still run around the streets, frighten children, and occasionally attack passersby.

Americans create shelters for homeless animals, which are often kept at the expense of philanthropists. The purpose of such detention centers is not simply to provide animals with shelters, but also to find permanent owners for them.

In addition, the USA has a network of training centers for dogs, either training schools for family dogs, or special centers where law enforcement dogs are trained (for example, those used to search for drugs and explosives) and guide dogs, four-legged companions of people with disabilities.
