Clearwater Beach. Clearwater Bay
The American resort of Clearwater Beach is in a picturesque location, on the west coast of Florida. The main attraction of the resort is a four-kilometer beach, stretched along the barrier island, in the Gulf of Mexico. Clearwater Beach is connected with the mainland of Florida by only the Clearwater Memorial Causeway bridge.
The first bridge to the island was built in the 1920s. At that time, it represented a two-lane road. In the 50’s, the old bridge was replaced with a drawbridge. By the mid-90’s it became clear that the bridge was not coping with the increasing flow of cars, so the decision was made to build a large bridge, Clearwater Memorial Causeway. Its opening took place in August 2005.
In the center of the picture, we can see a lively roundabout where Causeway Boulevard intersects with Coronado Drive and several avenues. In fact, we can see the main traffic intersection of Clearwater Beach. In the background of the image are the innumerable piers of the resort, built on Clearwater Bay. Yachts and boats moor in both ports and private estates, as most of the houses in Clearwater Beach are built right by the water and have their own piers.
The camera is installed at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa. This four-star hotel has direct access to the beach and Sunsets At Pier 60.
