Colorado Springs. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Giraffes

The zoo, in south Colorado Springs, is known throughout the world for its giraffes, which we can see on the screen. They have been collected since the 1920s. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is named after Mount Cheyenne — we are now at its foot.

The territory of the zoo covers an area of about 57 hectares, but only 16 hectares are in constant operation. You can see more than 150 animal species, 30 of which are under the threat of extinction.

Since 1954, more than 200 giraffes have been born in this zoo! That is why Cheyenne Mountain gained world fame as the best zoo for breeding these animals. In 2018, Cheyenne Mountain was recognized as one of the best zoos in North America.
