Homewood. Catholic Church of the Blessed Virgin

We are in Homewood, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. There are luxury recreational centers, a public library, a school, and a large shopping center.

We can see the Church of the Blessed Virgin. Its building is modern, but it has a cross on the roof. On the church website, local residents can see the schedule of Masses, denominations, and celebrations.

Church of the Blessed Virgin was built in 1960, when the old church on 14th Street was burned.

In 1985, a church organ was created by Kenneth Jones in Dublin. The magnificent stained-glass windows were made in 1991. They are called “Seven Sorrows of Mary.”

There is a Catholic school, it has its own sports teams, scout groups, and other elements of school life, complemented by church activities.
