Julesburg. The Crossing of West Second Street and Cedar Street

Julesburg, a small town in Colorado with population of about 1,000 people, is known to Americans thanks to the television series of the last century. “The Story of Julesburg” was shown in the western, “Pony Express”, in 1960. Surprisingly, the town got its name after Jules Beni, the criminal, who robbed stagecoaches in the state. Several television series were based on those stories.

The city is built between highways 76 and 80, which intersect at the border of Colorado and Nebraska. The camera is in the southern part of the city, not far from the city court and Hippodrome Art Center.

Some 10-15 years ago, Julesburg was in complete desolation and there were no parking lots, lit roads or paved sidewalks, which you can see on the screen now.
