Katmai National Park and Preserve. Brooks Camp
Brooks Camp is, in fact, the only corner of civilization throughout the territory of Katmai National Park. It’s not very interesting to observe the life of the camp; it is more interesting to watch the life of the original inhabitants of the reserve—brown bears. Let’s do it!
Just a few words about the camp, in case you’d like to come here.
First, you don’t need to worry about security, although the most unpredictable predators of the planet are wandering around. The camp is surrounded by an electrified fence.
Secondly, it’s better to book a place in Brooks, in advance. It can only host 60 people, and there are a lot of people who want to watch brown bears in their natural habitat.
Finally, the last thing is to keep in mind is that one person can stay in Brooks for no more than two weeks during the year and not more than seven days in July. Plan your trip carefully!
The camp does not work all year round, only from June 1 to September 17.
