Sunderland. The Orvis Pond

This is a small pond in a wooded area, with a background of the Vermont Mountains. If you think that this camera is installed in one of the green hotels, then you are mistaken. The head office of the Orvis Company offers this view from its windows. Since 1856, this company has been engaged in the production of clothing, as well as equipment for fishing and hunting. It is interesting that the founder of the company, Charles Orvis, was the inventor and designer of a variety of products, such as a fishing rod reel and a special fish trap.

We can see the Orvis Pond. Apparently, it was named after the founder of the company; the size of the pond is only 100 by 40 meters.

The nearest town is located 9 kilometers north of the Orvis office. It’s the town of Sunderland, with a population of only 1000 people. The Orvis Company glorifies this city.

Two other cities of Bennington County are more popular, they can be reached by the road US 7. The cities are Bennington and American Manchester, both with golf courses and a large tourist infrastructure.

The camera is directed west toward the Arlington National Reserve and, if you move east, you will soon find yourself in the Green Mountain National Forest.
